Exhibition Review: David Bowie Is…
Quite simply one of the best exhibitions I’ve ever been to. Beyond the riveting subject matter of David Bowie’s indelible stamp on art and culture the exhibition itself is a whirlwind of video, art, typography, fashion and of course music and is unlike anything I’ve ever attended.
From atmospheric sound recording booths, dazzling mirrored video installations and cathedral sized images the V&A have reinvented the way in which an exhibition can explore a subject matter. Without ever feeling gimmicky or like a science museum you are taken on a journey through one man’s psyche, influences and demons and spat out at the end feeling all the better for it.
They even have the crystal orb from the Labyrinth movie!
New Work: Identity For England Your England Short Film Series
England Your England is an documentary series by Brighton’s Progress Films showcasing stories from real people across the UK; defining individuals, communities and the nation. Taking inspiration from the films and the acronym ‘EYE’ we created a simple mark and typographic style that could be translated to the characters’ names for the opening sequences of each film.
This was a fascinating project to work on. You can watch the shorts, learn about the project and get to know the people at englandyourengland.tv

Book Review: Being A Photographer
I discovered this book at a friends studio and was instantly drawn to it. Yann Arthus-Bertrand takes us through his photoshoots from around the world - from sumptuous images of the wild animals of Africa and the traditions of the Masai in Kenya to unique images of modern America.
Along with details from behind each image Yann also gives his thoughts on how to keep your passion for photography while keeping it a lucrative business.
So many of the images are a complete breath of fresh air and his use of colour and pattern are phenomenal. This is the best photography book I’ve come across in a while.

It’s no secret that we love a good triangle at FentonForeman and it’s all because of this little window. Amazing views, beautiful weather!
